Who am I: Project Engineer

Life is a journey written out of choices made from infinite possibilities.

I am Jonathan, a Mechanical Engineer, and my journey started more than 8000 km from where I am today.

Originally from the Philippines, my wife and I moved to New Zealand with our two young boys and seven suitcases back in 2008. I became part of Milmeq in 2010 which until March 2019 eventually became part of Wiley.

For the past 11 years, my work revolved mostly around projects within the meat industry in both Australia and New Zealand. And back in the Philippines, my work involved 15 years in plant operations and logistics within the food and beverage industry. However, I do welcome new challenges in other fields and I see them as a chance to learn new things and move forward. If given the chance, I would probably like to operate my own bus company… let’s see if my journey takes me there.

Outside work, I simply spend time with my family. My wife and I both enjoy travelling and watching movies.

I love music. In my spare time, I would just pick-up the guitar or play the piano and sing imagining I am some singer-song writer. By the way, I used to write songs when I was much younger, and that was probably how I impressed my wife… unfortunately, my voice is not that good. In time, I look forward to writing songs again.

I believe that “……If you can’t be a highway then just be a trail,

If you can’t be the sun be a star;

It isn’t by size that you win or you fail–

Be the best of whatever you are!” (-Douglas Malloch)
